Ultrasound Technician (Sonographer)

Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Ultrasound Technician (Sonographer) to join the NextGen Scans team. This role involves using ultrasound equipment to capture detailed images of internal organs and tissues to assist in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ultrasound technology and a strong commitment to patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures, including abdominal, pelvic, and obstetric scans
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound exams by explaining the procedure and positioning them properly
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring accurate image quality
  • Analyze ultrasound images and collaborate with physicians to provide diagnostic information
  • Follow safety protocols to minimize patient exposure to ultrasound waves
  • Record and document images and patient information accurately
  • Ensure patient comfort throughout the procedure
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of ultrasound equipment
  • Assist with other administrative and clinical duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited ultrasound technology program
  • State licensure and certification in sonography (specific to location)
  • Previous experience in ultrasound imaging preferred
  • Proficient in operating ultrasound machines and interpreting images
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, clinical environment
  • Physical stamina to perform standing and assisting patients during procedures
